Desktop Accessories
Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to contribute to the November feature on Desk Top Accessories, but I'd just like to report that my favourite desk accessory just has to be the self-stirring mug. I always take time with my hot drinks, particularly lattes and cappuccinos, and the mug ensures that they are always mixed perfectly without the need for a spoon and any mess. It's a brilliant fun idea that doesn't cost the earth, is used everyday and offers maximum branding potential.
Regarding trends in the industry, we are experiencing constant demand for accessories that are both practical and fun. Quality is essential, the accessory has to earn its place on a desk, its position is not guaranteed.
Multi-function items will continue to dominate the sector, but it must be remembered that although modern innovations are always eagerly seized upon as they are launched, the desk-accessory market is also very traditional in nature with a strong constant demand for period style accessories. In many respects, the taste in high-end desk accessories hasn't changed that much over time with such traditional items as paperweights still immensely popular, particularly if given a novelty design or added functions – a fact reflected in the constant expansion of our collection of multi-function chrome finish transport desk-sets including our new range of modern and retro cars, motorbikes and trucks.
