Promotional Products In Action

As the Editor of Promo e-News and in the interests for research for this website, I like to keep my eyes open for promotional merchandise in action.

What I came across this week was something that is usually given as a business gift, being used to promote products in situ.

Let me explain … I was sitting in a bar, (purely in the interests of research you understand), when something caught my eye on the bar itself. (No, it was not a bottle of bubbly!) It was a digital photo frame which had been set up with a visual and short message for each cocktail in the barman's repertoire. Cute and effective!

So, have you seen any promotional merchandise in action recently, that was being used well … or not so well?

Do let me know by responding to this blog (see below) or e-mailing me.

Carole,

Having sat with you in many bars at many industry events, I appreciate your dedication … to the promotions industry! I am about to use a promotional product to display products, the way you mentioned in your blog.

One of my customers (who makes parts for railway lines) wants to create and launch a new brochure and give a promotional gift to remind his customers of the company. So we are doing the whole thing in one go. We are commissioning USB memory sticks that look like railway workers, complete with orange hi-vis jackets and loading the brochure onto them.

I know it’s not a totally new idea, but that’s one thing about the promotions industry, it’s very eco-friendly, it keep recycling ideas with a slightly different twist.

On anther note, I’m not going to the Hong Kong Gift Fair this year, but if anyone is, I’d love to hear some industry feedback from a fellow supplier, NOT just the exhibition’s own hype.

Thanks for that Pat. When the job is complete, send us a pic of the USB railway man and we'll add it to the news.

Re the Hong Kong Gift Fair, you are in luck. One of our readers is going to do a blog for us on his return from the show.

Watch this space.

Our team agrees we have seen a lot of the Promotional Photo Frames used here in Australia. Retail shops especially seem to be using these on the front window of a shop front or on the checkout counter to display specials. A great item to promote your business on a daily basis.
