From the practical to the frivolous – but fun, promotional-merchandise.org.uk has rounded up some of the latest and most innovative products to hit the market.

Let's start with the practical; the 'Globix Travel Mug' is a heat changing metal insulated mug that has a global design and technology patent! Said to be the world's first metal thermal reacting mug, it's ideal for many promotional marketing campaigns and exclusively available through face2face! When filled with hot liquid, its heat sensitive exterior transforms to reveal bespoke images, such as logos. (www.face2face.me.uk)

Staying with the practical (OK, so it also borders on the frivolous!) we discovered the Weather Lite Umbrella, which uses a special polycarbonate shaft that 'lights up' with LED technology. As soon as you switch it on, the umbrella's 'light up shaft' will have an impact. (Tel: 020 8624 6664)

Completely practical, the latest offering from Senator Pens is the complete Qlever (pronounced 'clever') gift set. This is a rollerball pen with adjustable tip which can be positioned to an angle of up to 15 degrees to accommodate the perfect writing position. It now comes in an attractive gift box with both blue and black spare refills, ideal for businesses considering unique corporate Christmas gifts. (www.senator-promotion.com.)

Among the most innovative products exhibited at this year's National Incentive Show (NEC, Birmingham, September) was the new iKyp mini, which was created to accommodate any credit card sized insert and can include hotel key cards, gift cards, travel cards, loyalty cards and business cards. Other products launched at the exhibition included The PUK, the computer mouse wrist support (to combat repetitive strain syndrome), which was launched by Flo-Sta Ltd. (www.pukme.com)

Drive Safe, an innovative head-set to place behind the ear to prevent drivers falling asleep during long journeys, was launched by Fetch Innovation (Tel: 01243512123) and the Monk Marketing Partnership launched pocket sized fold up binoculars. (www.monkmarketing.com)

The Promotional Marketing Exhibition, (Olympia, London, 17-19 April 2007) will no doubt be the launch pad for many more innovative promotional products, but in the meantime, we'll keep you up to date with market innovations here at promotional-merchandise.org.uk.
