Promotions on Wheels!
When I first became involved in the promotional merchandise industry I was told it impacted on every aspect of your life. At the time I found this hard to believe, but now I know it’s true. Promotional products are evident in the home, in the office, at the gym, in bars and restaurants and in your car! So this month we are looking at the various ways promotional merchandise can be used either to promote car brands or used in cars to remind us of other brands.
Be prepared!
With school holidays imminent and more Brits likely to holiday in the UK this summer rather than abroad, Richard Wood, MD of High Profile, a leading UK manufacturer of standard and plastic promotional products tells us,” …. it’s essential that cars are fully equipped with relevant equipment to ensure each journey takes into account any eventuality.
“There are some essential items that are a ‘must have’ in cars to ensure every trip taken is enjoyable. We offer a wide selection of car accessories and safety items. Each product supplied will make car journeys easier and is valuable during the journey to deal with various road conditions and safety, parking and breakdowns.
“All items available can be branded with a company name, contact details and logos and varying colours.
“Indeed, a well-respected promotions industry survey reviewed not only what individuals actually retained in their car but also whether there was a link between branding on promotional merchandise and sales. It found that there was a positive link between the two and would have a strong and direct influence on purchasing behaviour.
“Our Trio Car Kit offers complete security for the motorist and contains a warning triangle, hi visibility vest and first aid kit and is available in eight different colours. The car kit has been designed to maximise the amount of print area available for bespoke logos and company names tailored to any businesses requirements.
“Another new addition to our car accessory range is our Parking
Ticket Holder. It’s far too easy for a parking ticket to fall off a dashboard
and for the recipient to be subsequently fined by a traffic warden. These transparent parking ticket holders
ensure that the ticket is highly visible at all times and the recipient doesn’t
receive a hefty fine.”
Key Rings
Key rings bearing the car’s brand are widely used as
status symbols by those who drive performance or quality cars. Coventry
Silvercraft offers a fully bespoke service to produce the right key ring for
any brand. Manufactured in either plated base metals, in a range of
finishes or in solid silver with rhodium plating, key rings can be made to any
shape required, as this example of a pound sterling sign (£) shows.
The company can also make key rings in plastics with a wide range of key fittings and can supply a range of varied promotional products, including awards.
Sweet Treats
Some sweeties are an
absolute must for the glove box and this 90mm travel tin from Sweet Temptations
can be filled with either refreshing mint imperials, fruit drops or jelly beans
to keep you going during those long miles. The tins can be personalised with a
full colour printed label on the lid. Lead time: 1-2 weeks, minimum order quantity: 504.
Stay Safe
This alcohol breath tester on a keyring promotes responsible drinking. It’s available from AnythingPromotional.com along with a range of pocket alcohol sensors. Prices vary from £2 to over £10, but expect more accurate results from the more expensive ranges!
Senator, a name which is more usually associated with quality promotional writing instruments, is the exclusive promotional partner for the highly original design-led retail range of products from Koziol. Their latest range of promotional car accessories includes:
Henry, which instantly gauges whether tyres have the recommended tread depths.
An endearing character for memorable promotions, Henry is crafted from
rubberised material with ample space for branding on his midriff. What’s more,
he comes complete with a miniature scraper to reliably remove old stickers and
graphics from car windows. Available in translucent orange, red, blue and
green or pantone matched for larger quantities. A key chain version is also
available.
Yeti and Mini YetiYeti and Mini Yeti are monster
ice-scrapers that de-ice windscreens in a
jiffy. Available in orange, red, blue and green, they will get into the
smallest curves and corners to guarantee a good view and can be fully
personalised with a company name or logo. Mini Yeti is designed to attach
easily to a key-ring, creating an intriguing eye-catcher when out on the road.
The
Corporate Sales division of organiser brand Filofax has supplied bespoke
organisers to the motor trade on several occasions. Examples include
special projects for Rolls Royce, Bentley, Land Rover, Volvo, Vauxhall and JCB.
Next month we will have a preview of Incentives & Promotional Marketing – Live! (NEC 21-22 Sept) focusing on all the products on show, including those in the New Products Zone, sponsored by promotional-merchanise.org.uk.
